Zyliss Profi-King Plus Vise

Tool: Zyliss Profi-King Plus Vise

Zyliss Profi-King Vise Wow, I didn’t know this vise was so popular until I looked it up today. I’ve owned a Zyliss vise for 20 years. When I picked it up at a tag sale I thought it might be for waxing skiis but I put it to use in my wood shop and haven’t replaced it yet. This is a well build Swiss tool.

Experience:
I’ve used this Zyliss Profi-King Vise in each shop I’ve had for the past 20 years. It was easy to install on many different benches over the years. It is currently mounted on a block of oak that I bolted to an assembly table. One of the best features is the handle which can tighten the jaws and then move freely out of the way. It’s aluminum so it’s a fairly blade safe metal vise that, free from burrs, is safe against your work. I keep a few blocks of wood for between material and vise, the blocks of wood protect my work and provide a larger clamping surface.

I use this Zyliss to hold my work, be it a small piece under the dremel tool or a large panel for edge forming. The Zyliss Profi-King is a strong vise with a large threads for easy adjustments. Did I say I like the Aluminum already?

I’m glad to see several Zyliss Profi-King vises on ebay but I don’t foresee a reason to replace mine for a long time to come.

  1. I agree on the usefulness of the Zyliss vice…. I have had mine decades too, but over the years in various moves numerous bits have vanished. I am having a very hard time finding a source for replacements parts. Can ANYONE help me out with a source of supply for
    - endstock
    - pivot piece
    - drill holder
    - wood plastics for the jaws
    - pipe plastics for the jaws

  2. I noticed several of these vises for sale on ebay.
If you bought a new vice at least you’d have one complete set of accessories. Could be cheaper than each of the accessories purchased separately since they are going for less than $100 complete kits!

  3. I have a Profi-King Zyliss grip never been out of the box. No idea of it’s value of it’s what you’re looking for. The writing on the box is mostly German (I believe.)

  4. Has anyone used the Profi-king as a lathe? Thanks.

  5. I just acquired the Profi-King Plus from my deceased father-in-law’s work room… it appears it never has been used, but it has no instructions on how to mount or to use all the various attachments….Can anyone suggest where I may acquire any documents that may be available? Thanks

  7. I am not sure where to get grips like that BUT… There is a product that is a liquid which you can pour onto objects to form a handle.

Other than that… bike handles are at the bike store.
Handles can be found that fit your application.
Take one from one object and put on another?

  8. You can find the replacement parts at http://www.myhomeworkshop.com and open the Z-Vise link and there is a link to replacement parts at the bottom of the page. or go straight to http://www.myhomeworkshop.com/Vise_Parts_Pricing.html/
