Tool: Echo SRM-210 Gas Powered Grass Trimmer
What do you get when you whack weeds barefoot? Most likely you’ll get hurt badly, but if you’re lucky you’ll still have all your toes and your feet will just be a little banged up and covered with bits of grass – Never do as I do, nor as I say…
A small animal, perhaps a squirrel or some mice, ate a hole through my Echo Grass Trimmer’s fuel tank over the winter. When I pulled out my SRM-210 this spring it started right up! …And then I noticed gasoline sloshing out and dripping down the back of my leg. Oh no, there’s a large hole in the tank. Not a small pinhole, or a little damaged spot, but a 3/4″ wide-open hole that’s large enough for mice to have crawled inside for a long winter nap. What to do? Read more »

Tool: Tajima CR202B Chalk-Rite II Ultra Thin Chalk Line
Precision is what a chalk line should be about. Until I found the Tajima CR202B Ultra Thin line I never experienced such fine marks despite a large collection of chalk boxes. This is a love-at-first-use tool. My Tajima is an awesome chalk line that makes one wonder where it’s been all these years and starts a hankering to experience more Tajima products.

Tool: Bucket Boss Brand 2″ Liars Suspenders
Starting this article with the phrase: “Maybe I got a bad pair but…” might not be as bad as me saying: Don’t click the hyperlink Bucket Boss Brand Liars Suspenders
to buy these suspenders.
These suspenders are not only crap, they are completely worthless. Despite the silly pattern and good sized clips the elastic bands aren’t designed to hold a more than a few ounces and the suspender wouldn’t adjust to fit this 5′-10″ carpenter.

Tool: Cold Steel Trail Boss Camp Axe
For thousand of years the Axe has been a quintessential tool for humankind. Once an integral part of every carpenter’s tool box, the axe is rich with symbolism, history and function. An Axe is a bad-ass tool in the hands of a carpenter and the Trail Boss was an instant favorite that I now carry in my truck day-to-day! Though I queued up nearly a dozen Fiskar and Gerber modern ceramic chopping tools before purchasing this traditional steel axe with it’s hickory handle, I am very happy with my purchase.
